Shell’s Signature Grapefruit Rita
Michelle is always our margarita maker when we’re doing barbecue or Tex-Mex! This one is a winner and also qualifies as a ‘skinny rita’ – BONUS! If you haven’t tasted Tajin spice – it’s a very tart lime/chili spice and so delicious as a rim on this margarita. Highly recommend this drink when cooking up your fave Tex-Mex dishes!

Equipment
- Drink Shaker
- Shot Glass
Ingredients
- ½ Grapefruit
- 1 large lime
- Your Favorite Tequila (I like Casamigos or Patron)
- Patron Citronge Orange Liqueur
- Agave Nectar (Optional)
- Tajin
Instructions
- Juice the half a grapefruit and set aside
- Juice the lime and set aside. (Save one lime half to rub the rim of your glass.)
- Pour Tajin spice onto small plate and turn lime rimmed glass into a layer of Tajin. If you prefer you can use kosher salt instead of Tajin.
- Grab a bar shaker and a shot glass.
- Add one shot of grapefruit juice to the shaker.
- Add a shot of lime juice to the shaker.
- Add two shots of tequila
- Add half a shot of Patron Citronge
- If you prefer a sweeter margarita add a few drops of agave nectar. I like mine very sour so I do without it.
- Add ice and shake
- Pour over ice into the glass with the Tajin rim. Or serve without ice in glass – your preference!
- Get your ‘party’ on!
